"You don't need to apologize, I can understand. And it doesn't matter what they think, a lot of them I'll bet aren't completely normal themselves." Irma was known for speaking her mind, no matter how bold

Chat gave a small smile. "Yeah, but none of them have ears as cool as mine." he said with a coy smile. It was easy to play pretend that the modifications didn't bother him. "So, what brings you to the square, other than to talk to stray cats hiding in alleys?"

She smiled at his little joke and held up a book on architecture "I'm studying architecture, and the square has some cool buildings and statues."

Chat had never noticed it before now but Irma was right. The square did have interesting view. "If you want to get a better view, you should go up on the roof, you can see everything from up there." His green eyes softened a bit, it would be impossible for her to get up on the roof though, she didn't have claws or the means to get up there. Not like him, she would need a ladder.

She looked up "You know what? I think I will." She began to climb to the top. Her climbing was something her father taught her, even though her mother believed it was dangerous.

The boy had never seen a girl climb like her before. It was something that he only thought cats were capable of. Climbing was in their nature, but it had grown on him when the modifications had come in, following shortly afterwards he stood beside her. "Never seen a normal person climb like that before."

"My dad taught me. He had years of practice climbing up and down Notre Dame, so he taught me as well. My mom didn't exactly like it." She stretched.

Chat took a seat on the roof, placing his hands behind him. "I can only imagine how that would effect a mom to be honest." He gave a small laugh trying to imagine how Irma's mom would react to such a sight.

"She told my dad that even if he could do it, she didn't want to see her daughter getting hurt." She laughed "But I really wanted to learn how, so dad taught me in secret."

Chat gave a smile. "Sounds like a nice dad," he said, keeping any sign of jealousy out his voice. "Wish I had a dad like that, mine always is busy with his experiments and developing new machines." Man, he hated to call Syndrome his father. If anything Syndrome was just a mad scientist. "How do you like it here? I mean it must be better than living in a bell tower."

"It's a lot more spacious, and there are more people to talk to." She shrugged "But I like both, in different ways."

"I can't imagine being in the belltower like that, i bet its got an interesting view." He said, before looking at his nails. "I actually like this place a lot better than the Isle of the Lost," he gave a small laugh. "There's a lot more to do and a lot more to eat." It had been so long since he had had a decent meal that he practically gorged himself with all the food.

"It has one of the best views around." Irma looked out over the academy "The Isle must be pretty bad, huh? I've never been, but it looks awful, even from far away."

"Ah, its not really that bad." Chat said, "I mean yeah, this place is way better, its the cat's meow if you want to get techincal about it." He smiled at his own own joke. "But yeah , it wasn't bad, at least to me. I kind of liked it, all the shadows and the sneaky places to hide." That was one of his many hobbies, sneaking into shadows and learning about people.
