Name: Robbie Goodfell aka. Puck
Age: 17
Descendant of: Diaval and Vixey
Team: Neutral
(Puck: Good, Evil, it’s all relative really. What makes you a hero or a villain is bound up in two very simple questions; did you win? Or did you lose?)
Background: Puck is the son of Diaval and Vixey, two animal-shaping Humans. Diaval in particular, is Maleficent’s pet crow and head minion. When all the villains were caught and confined to the Isle of Lost, Diaval managed to escape and made his way back to the mainland. There, he hoped to find a safe place to hide and live his life in safe and anonymity.
As he headed back to the mainland, Diaval found himself flying through a small, enchanted forest. When he landed to get some rest and food, he saw a beautiful young woman with hair as red as fire. Intrigued, Diaval landed on the ground nearby and transformed into his human form. At first the young woman was startled but curious by nature, she stayed. As the two of them talked and got to know each other, they became more intrigued in the person they saw.
Diaval learned that the young woman was not an ordinary young woman. In fact, she was actually a mischievous fey spirit called a puca that went by the name of Vixey and an animal-shapeshifter like him. Vixey learned that Diaval was not just a young man but an escapee from the Isle of Lost and a former minion of Maleficent.
Overtime, Diaval ended up living with Vixey in her forest cottage. They spent their days talking and living quiet, relatively unremarkable lives. However, as Vixey was a puca, she loved to sneak into the local villages and terrorize or aid the villagers. Intrigued by this ability to be good or bad, Diaval often accompanied Vixey and helped her with her various activities. As time passed, Diaval and Vixey fell in love and soon Vixey was pregnant with a child. The couple could not be happier and eagerly looked forward to the time when they could greet their child and introduce them to the world.
Unfortunately, fate can only be kind for so long. One day when Diaval was going into town to buy supplies and food, he was secretly recognized by some soldiers who happened to be passing by. These soldiers had been among those who had taken all the villains and their minions to the Isle of Lost. Once the soldiers had figured out where Diaval and Vixey were living, they made plans to arrest Diaval. Later that night, the soldiers surrounded the cottage and demanded that Diaval give himself up. Worried for his love and their unborn child, Diaval agreed to do so. He convinced Vixey to escape on her own and not to let anyone, especially the soldiers know she was with child. He feared that if they knew, they would insist that the child be taken to the Isle of Lost as well, something Diaval would not have wished on even his greatest enemy’s children.
While Diaval gave himself up and was taken away by the soldiers, Vixey escaped and watched heartbroken as her dearest love was taken away from her. She was scared, alone and expecting a child. What was she supposed to do? Afraid to raise her child on her own, Vixey returned to her puca clan and decided that her child would be taught in the old ways of the fey and her kind, despite the fact that the child would only be half-puca.
A few months later, Vixey gave birth to a healthy baby boy with hair as red as the morning sky. She named the boy Robbie but, in time the boy would earn the name ‘Puck’, as it related to the malicious yet benevolent puca that the boy often imitated and grew up surrounded by. As Puck grew older, it became clear that he had inherited both his parents’ shapeshifting abilities; the fox form of his mother and the crow form of his father. He grew up intelligent yet chaotic, mischievous yet caring, thoughtful yet malicious but such is the way of all puca children. He learned the basics of the puca philosophy and way of life which can be summed up into one single sentence; "Life is a major joke, so you might as well be the one making it."
In time, Vixey became confident enough that she was ready to leave the clan once more and strike out on her own with Puck. They moved to a new forest, several hundred leagues from Auradon Prep. There, they made a new life for themselves. When Puck turned 9 years old, a strange man with a white beard stumbled upon their cottage. Intrigued, Puck followed the old man and even tried to trick the poor fellow by turning into his crow form and stealing the old man's hat.
This only made the old man laugh which brought Vixey out of the cottage to see what all the fuss was about. It was then that the old man revealed himself to be Merlin, the Headmaster of Auradon Prep and he wanted to welcome the two elusive fey that had come to live among the castle grounds. After a short chat, Merlin realized who Puck’s father was and told Vixey that when Puck was older, he could come to Auradon Prep to learn and be among other children like himself. Soon after, Merlin left to continue on his travels.
Although, Puck received a letter at age 13 inviting him to join Auradon Prep, he did not take the offer until this year, a few months after his 17 birthday. What the red-headed trickster had been doing during these ‘lost’ years, none can say. Only time will tell why this mischievous half-fey boy has decided to attend a school for heroes that only just opened its doors to the children of villains as well.
How they got into Auradon Prep (if the character is a student): When Puck was very young, Merlin promised his mother that her son would have an open invitation to attend Auradon, should he choose to do so. When Puck was 13, he received a letter inviting him to the school, however he was too….’busy’ at the time. Now, sensing a high level of malice and mischief in the air around Auradon Prep, Puck has finally decided that it is time to take advantage of his ‘open invitation’.
(Puck: No, you do Not get to know What I was doing during those, ahem, ‘lost’ years. And the only way you will ever find out is if I am sufficiently drunk!)
Job (if the character has one): None
(Puck: Hey now! I have a job! I have a very serious and time-consuming job! Being a charming little shit-disturber is Not easy work you know!)
Personality: Puck is a very charming, adventurous, relatively happy-go-lucky, teasing, mischievous, rebellious, cunning, manipulative, and very intelligent young man. He is also slightly conceited and has a high opinion of himself.
Puck rarely cares about how what he does might affect other people or the world around him as he views much of life as a joke and enjoys making trouble wherever he goes. Puck is also very interested and curious about other people, almost to the point of it being disturbing. He finds a lot of pleasure and entertainment from manipulating people into sticky situations then watching as they struggle to get out of them. While most people would consider the things Puck does to be malicious, bordering on 'evil', Puck identifies with being neutral. To him, him the concepts of good and evil, right and wrong do not exist and are very trivial matters. The majority of his decisions are defined by how much fun he can get out of something or how much trouble he can cause in a situation. Whether or not he should or should not do something does not even compute for him, it's all about what he can get out of it.
However, despite all his faults, Puck would never get someone he truly cares about into a harmful or dangerous situation on purpose. He can also be quite helpful and relatively kind when he wants to be and if he likes you. However, if Puck likes you, it’s more than likely he will try to cause unending amounts of trouble for you. In reality, there is no easy way of knowing whether Puck likes you or not.
Pets (if the character has any): None
(Puck: I’m my own pet. I can turn into a crow and a fox. Why would I want a pet when I’m already in possession of two different animals?)
