A Study in Roomates (Tag Elionwy)

Pearl was grinning from ear to ear, her trip to the library had been over all a sucess. Aside from knocking a boy to the ground...by accident...Pearl had been able to get a lot of books about the history of Auradon! If she was lucky, there might be some clues that could help her pin point who Steven's parents are.

(Flashback)

"I'm glad to hear that, Pearl, but don't you think you might have too many books?" Steven had asked.

"Not really, that library is huge." She wobbled and dropped the books all over the pavement, "But now that you mention it, I could use a hand getting these all back to my room."

"Oh! Lion could help you!" The big pink cat just yawned and got up from where he had been sitting.

"That's very nice of you, Steven, but why can't you help me?"

Steven pointed to a sign, "They have a really strict rule about boys and girls being in seprate buildings."

(Flashback End)

"Well I guess that's why my request for Steven and I to share a dorm room got rejected." She mumbled. So there she was walking back to her room with a pile of books in her arms and another one on the back of Lion, who was doing a great job of keeping them on him. "Here we are, Lion, let me just get the door." Pearl used her magic to pick the lock and opened the door.

It was still really bare because Pearl still hadn't had time to unpack yet, but her bags were there waiting for her...later though. "Okay, just place them..." Lion shook the books off his back and then rushed out the door, "...anywhere." Pearl sighed, placed her books on her bed and started to pick up the ones that had been scattered everywhere.

As Eilonwy was walking down the steep hallways, she looked and saw that the hallway was pretty long, and the hallways were bigger compared to the one she had at home. Although she was not overwhelmed by the size, it was just really big and huge. So far, while being in the school, she was able to meet a wolf and a classmate. Now, she is going to meet her roommate. She had no idea on who it is, and once she saw a young lady, who using magic to open the door, her eyes were gazing at it from afar. She had no idea what kind of magic it was, but it did look cool to look at first glance. She then sees her with a lion.. a pet that did look interesting to see, considering that she and Taran did share a pet pig, so, there was nothing new about carrying a pet, whether it could be a lion, pig, or any other type of animal. She did see that she had a lot books as soon as she uses her key to walk into the room. "Hey miss, would you like some help?" She asked, and started to pick up some books and start to put some away. "I see that you are interested in reading books; I am a book-reader myself, and I am more of a history type of reader. How about you?" She asked, as she continued to put some books away. "Oh, and my name is Eilonwy." She introduced herself, with a small grin. She hoped that she and her roommate could get along really quickly since she was interested in books as well.

Pearl looked up from picking up books to see that a young girl had stepped into the room. She had long blonde hair and a warm smile, it also appeared that she was Pearl's roommate. After all, only someone with a key to the room...or magic...could get in after it closed due to security reasons...Pearl had read the student handbook 12 times on the trip over to the school. "Oh um, sure. Thank you." Answered Pearl when the girl asked if she could help. "I was just at the library and decided to pick up a little bit of light reading about Auradon's history to refresh my memory." She got up and placed the stack of books that she had just picked up on her bed, "I'm Pearl, by the way. It's very nice to meet you, Eilonwy." Pearl nerviously smiled, she felt awkward talking to someone who wasn't Steven or her mother.

As she was helping this young woman with the books, she looked up at her and saw that she did look friendly enough to get along with and even wondered if they were going to read together, and talk about the books that they liked to read in their free time. She even saw that the young woman was acceptable to having her help her organizing the reading materials. "Alright, is there any place in particular on where you want me to put the books, like on a bookshelf or will putting them in your desk-drawer would be fine." She asked, with a small grin as she asking her suggestions for the most appropriate places for them instead of putting them in any random place where they could get lost. She heard that she was at the library and it did sound like the books she did read did sound really interesting. "I heard that the history of Auradon is really interesting. I did read one book there, and I was so fascinated that I could not put the book down." She commented, and continued to help her with the books. She heard her name being "Pearl" and she nods her head. "Its nice to meet you too, Pearl." She said, with a small smile. She imagined that the both of them would get along really quickly.

"Oh, hmmm...I guess the desk would be a good place, I still have my own books to unpack and I think I rather have them on the book shelf." that and from what Pearl could see, the bookshelf might not support the weight of some of the heavier history books. "Besides, once I'm done with the books they'll just be sent back to library." Pearl paused for a moment and thought about it, "Unless you'd like to read any of them? Do you like to read books too?" It was still a bit weird to be sharing a room with someone else, but maybe if they at least had something in common maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

As she followed the instructions from her, she lies down the books onto the desk, which could be a good place to put them. She looked at the titles and puts them in alphabetical order so, it would be more organized. She then shows Pearl what she did by pointing out what she done. "I put them in order so, you can see the books better. I hope that will be alright by you." She offered, and grinned at her as she was helping out with the rest; she then heard a question from her asking if she liked reading her books as well, and she grinned with a small nod. "I do, actually. I've been reading a lot of books ever since I can remember. I do not mind having someone to read with. I try to read my books with my little brother a couple of times before coming here and he does make a huge distraction mostly. So, sharing a room with her did sound not only fun, but, also, felt optimistic about learning from one another. She looked at the books again and was trying to figure out on what to glance at first.

Pearl smiled, she looked over at the pile of books, "Yes, that looks great. Thank you so much, I'm sorry about the mess in the first place. I'm usually a lot more organize." Pearl brought her own pile of books over to the desk and placed them next to the pile that Elionwy had made, they were already organized for the ones that she had, she would probably organize them all together later, "That wonderful. Do you have any preferences on what type of book that you like? I'm sure I could find something in the ones I brought that might interest you." Pearl went over to her bag and pulled out her own books. They were all different types of books, some had stories and some were text books but one was Pearl's own personal notebook of spells, everything that she had learned from her studies with the Blue Fairy. She noticed that it was on top of the pile and quickly took it off, placing it into her nightstand for safe keeping.

This young lady did not really have to apologize due to the high amount of books that she had. After all, when coming into an environment like this, one has to bring a lot of reading material in order to learn and do all sorts of research. She did look at the giant pile of books that she had and she was amazed on how much she read. Even though Eilonwy was a bookworm herself, unlike her brother, she could at least learn from the books she brought. She looked up at the young woman and gave her a soft smile, while helping out with the giant pile of books. "Hey, no need to apologize miss, whenever there is a mess, time to clean it and make it a nice place to study." She replied, with a soft smile and continues with the pile. She saw that she brought her pile next to hers, and looked at the giant size of books again, and it was sure huge. She would have done the same thing when bringing books to an environment like this, and would have been glad that she brought reading material to read from. "I can tell that you are very organized, Pearl." She said, when looking at the giant pile of books. As soon as she asked on what type of books she liked to read, she tapped her chin gently, trying to remember on what books she read a lot with her mother, and there was many to choose from, as it was hard to choose as a personal favorite. After thinking for a couple of minutes, she was choosing between fairy tales and historical novels. "Well, when growing up with mother, I always loved Historical novels like Pride and Prejudice and certain fairy tales, such as Sleeping Beauty. I admire learning about all sorts of information whenever I read." She responded, with a soft, sweet tone, as she felt excited to read them really soon. As she was looking at the books, she saw that she had a notebook of some sort, but, assumed that it was a personal journal, so, she did not feel like asking anything. Instead, she was looking at the rest of the books, willing to capture her favorites to read from.
