It was the tap of something against her leg that caught Yzma's attention. Looking past her worn out magazine, she was brought face to face with her four year old son, Mello. His black eyes looking up at her, pleading. He had hit a book, held tightly in his hands, against her leg to get her attention.
"What do you want? Can't you see that I'm busy?" She returned her attention to her magazine, only for the child to hit her again. This time, when she looked, his book was close to her face.
"Can't Kronk read to you?" The child shook his head and pointed to the door. Right, Yzma thought, she had sent him on an errand. Yzma shook her head "Sorry Mello, I can't read right now, I'm far too busy, read it yourself." Mello slumped to the floor in front of her, looking at the storybook with tearbright eyes. Yzma seemed to have forgotten that Mello couldn't read yet. Kronk usually read for Mello, his mother often thinking it was beneath her to do these types of things. Mello bit his lip and tears went down his cheeks.
Yzma tried to ignore them, but, even if she was evil, her rare motherly instinct kicked in and sighed. Yzma tossed the magazine aside. Bending down, she scooped her son into her arms, getting them both comfortable on the dusty couch. Her bony fingers brushed her child's tears away "Now now, there's no need for that." She crooned and snuggled him closer to her. Mello smiled at this and nuzzled his head into her shoulder while Yzma propped the book up so she and her son could both see it. One story wouldn't kill her.
"And the evil queen poisoned Snow White and all seven of her nasty dwarves, and lived as the fairest of them all. The end." She closed the book "Alright kid, get up." Yzma looked down at Mello, only to find that he was sound asleep in her lap. She groaned, knowing that he would be extremely cranky if she woke him. She was stuck. Tossing the book aside to join the magazine on the floor, she looked at Mello. Brushing his hair out of his face, she smiled lightly at the sleeping boy. Watching her son sleep was beginning to make her sleepy as well. Closing her eyes, she decided to rest for a minute before putting Mello in his own bed. Kronk returned shortly after to find the mother and son.
It was the best picture Kronk had ever taken of the two.

Ok, I know it's short, but it's just a little idea I had. I figure that if Yzma ever did have kids, Kronk would be the one to do most of the work, while she did almost nothing. But the idea of her having a secret motherly instinct was too good to pass up.
