Background: Oogie Boogie wanted a son to carry out his schemes after he deemed Lock, Shock, and Barrel utterly useless after a scheme went wrong that landed him on the Isle of the Lost. But being nothing but a berlap sack with bugs (and no woman would come within a mile of him), he found an old doll and had a witch on the Isle use a little magic to turn it human for him. This doll was Gowther. But because the witch didn't have enough magic on the Isle, Gowther didn't really have any emotions. Oogie was fine with this, as no emotion would keep Gowther focused on what Oogie wanted him to do. Gowther, however, would rather read what books he could find on the Isle and sit around reading them. He wanted nothing to do with Oogie's schemes. This infuriated the boogieman and resulted in him beginning to beat Gowther, but the lack of emotions made it impossible for Gowther to really understand what was ever happening, so he never minded. Because of his original doll-like state, his body is able to handle extreme wounds, making him unaware that the abuse was wrong. Though, he does hate snake and spider stew that his father constantly cooked. At the request of Auradon, Gowther was sent there.

Personality: Gowther lacks emotion and often has only one real look on his face. What he knows about emotions is what he's read in books.
