Background: Schmendrick grew up on the streets of Paris with rest of the gypsy troop, never knowing the fear of being hunted by Frollo and his ilk. Schmendrick’s father, Clopin was a loving father and very protective of Schmendrick and the other gypsies, but his son could tell that he was a heart broken man. He never knew what had happened to make his father like this but Schmendrick wanted to find someway to cheer him up. Schmendrick taught himself how to cast illusions and learned magic tricks to cheer his father up. He was very gifted, now he spends his days entertaining the crowds with his father, performing his illusions and magic tricks. One day, he saw a pale skin girl dancing and decided to dance with her, afterwards he couldn’t get her out of his head. He talked to his father about it, who suddenly brightened up. He told his son that he should go to school and quickly sent a application to Auradon Prep. Schmendrick wonders why his father has sent him to the school and wonders if it has anything to do with the pale skinned girl.

Personality: Schmendrick is the type of person who looks at the world with wonder in his eyes, able to see magic in the air and lights in sky even on the cloudiest days. He hates to see children cry and people having a bad day, he enjoys making people happy. He often though will get frustrated when he messes something up.
